Dr. Van Benthuysen completed her studies for her Master’s Degree in Biology at Adelphi University, and obtained her medical degree from the State University of New York College of Medicine. She completed her residency in general pediatrics at Stony Brook University Medical Center in New York and followed with an additional year as Chief Resident. Dr. Van Benthuysen is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Holistic Medical Association, Travis County Medical Society, and the International Board of Certified Lactation Consultants.

Dr. Van Benthuysen says…

“After having children, I became passionate about helping new mothers achieve their breastfeeding goals, and then completed training to become a certified lactation consultant. My residency training also provided extensive experience with caring for special needs children.”
